My name is Stephanie - I've been the office administrator here at Wave Dental in Port Perry for the last year and a half. I'm also someone who has always had issues with her smile.I am now, not only an employee of Wave Dental, but also a patient! Under the watchful eye of Dr. Connie Yong (my amazing boss), my orthodontic transformation is about to begin!
For me, it has been a long road to orthodontic treatment. As a kid, I got teased about my teeth...a lot! "Chipmunk" or "Bucky-Beaver" were the favourite shouts across the playground. It made me extremely self conscious and uncomfortable and although it never stopped me from smiling, I hated showing my teeth. I still do today (unless being coerced in doing head shots for the dental office...lol)This blog has been started to let you, the reader, know about the process of getting braces - the good, the bad and the ugly. I will share my experiences with you, and hopefully, get a few of our other patients to act as "guest bloggers" to share their own experiences.
Although I work for Wave Dental, please rest assured, the opinions expressed in this blog are mine and mine alone. The descriptions of procedures and other treatment have been written not from a clinical stand point, but rather, from the viewpoint of someone who has a limited (but growing!) knowledge of dentistry and orthodontics. These are my personal experiences - I am no expert...TRUST ME!!!
